Katrina Purdy, owner / Instructor
Katrina started Oregon CPR in August of 2011. Katrina and her family have been in the health care field for over 35 years. Katrina started doing her own research on risks of heart disease, heart attack and stroke after her stepbrother had a heart attack at the age of 33. Knowing that this can happen to anyone is a very important learned life lesson. Katrina’s mission is to one day have everyone in Oregon to understand how important it is to be CPR/AED trained. Trevver D’Auteuil / BLS, CPR & First aid Instructor
I grew up on a farm, way back in the woods. When I was fresh out of high school, I got a job at a local lumber mill. My boss at the mill was also the captain of my local fire station. He invited me to one of the drill nights, so I went. Little did I know I was changing my life that day. I started showing up for more drill nights, and I started going on medical calls. The more I did, the more I fell in love with the profession. A year after I started, I got my EMR (Emergency Medical Responder) license and began volunteering in Florence, Oregon. There in Florence, I was exposed to a higher call volume, critical care paramedics, and very nice fire equipment. I was captivated; I spent 4 to 5 days a week volunteering my time there and honing my skills. In 2022, I decided to get my EMT-Basic, and soon after, I became a paid firefighter/EMT. Currently, I love my job, and I am always trying to improve my skills. I am currently working to get my paramedic license. I also worked on a contract wildfire crew for a few years and did some in-home care here and there. My skills are diverse, and I’m deeply passionate about what I do.
